Katarina Tonks, LAC, M.A., NCC
Katarina (“Kat”) earned her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University and has experience
working with individuals facing a wide range of mental health and life challenges. Throughout her career, she has supported clients struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, and substance use concerns. She has also worked as an executive functioning coach, helping individuals develop practical skills for organization, planning, and achieving personal goals.
Kat believes that every person has a unique story and brings a compassionate, authentic, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy. She strives to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. Kat values building strong therapeutic relationships and helping clients identify their strengths while working through challenges.
Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and strengths-based interventions. She works collaboratively with clients to increase self-awareness, develop effective coping skills, and move toward a life that aligns with their values and goals.
Known for her warm and approachable personality, Kat believes that therapy can be both meaningful and engaging. She often incorporates appropriate humor into sessions and recognizes that moments of laughter can help foster connection, resilience, and healing.
