ADULT D.B.T. GROUP: Do you ever feel like your life is an emotional roller coaster ride? Managing distress and understanding your emotions can be difficult tasks. Come join our DBT group and learn how to regulate your emotions and distress. You will also begin to understand yourself and how you relate to the world around you. (Ages 21 +)
TEEN SELF ESTEEM GROUP: Self esteem is really about accepting yourself! Being a teenager is hard. Adults are always telling you what you “should” and “should not do” and sometimes friends tell you to do the exact opposite. If you do not know who you are or do not accept who you are, these things are even more difficult and can make us doubt ourselves and our decisions.(for ages 14-18)
SEXUAL ABUSE SURVIVORS GROUP: Sexual abuse does not discriminate and can happen to people of all ages, races, ethnicities, classes and genders. Although it is more common than most people realize, when you have had this adverse experience, it can leave you feeling ashamed and like no one will ever understand. Come join our group and gain support and education.”No longer ashamed, no longer afraid, I was never to blame. SURVIVOR. (Ages 21+)
GENDER NON-CONFORMING GROUP: Am I normal??? That’s a hard questions to answer when it comes to Gender Identity and Gender Expression because of norms society puts on us. Not everyone falls into these norms, and when they don’t it can lead to confusion, misunderstanding, isolation, denial and worry. On the other hand, it can also lead to feeling pride and empowerment with the right supports and understanding.
DIVORCE SUPPORT GROUP: Divorce can be a such a difficult process to go through alone. It can be isolating, stressful, painful, lonely and a huge loss of a dream you created with a partner. Come to join our group and gain support and understanding with others who are going through the same thing.
GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP: Grief is something that everyone deals with, yet somehow is one of the lonliest ventures. When someone passes away, it feels like a piece of us is missing that we will never get back. Working through grief is a challenge and each person’s journey is different. Support and understanding from others can make that journey not feel so lonely. Come join our group and start the path to healing.
ADHD SUPPORT GROUP: ADHD is hard to cope with alone. Many people do not understand the difficulties that come with this diagnosis. CPS Support groups provide a nonjudgmental and understanding environment. Come learn skills and techniques to help regulate behavior and hyperactivity with peers who understand what you are going through. We invite you to come learn what works best for you! “If you judge a fish by its ability to climb tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
ADULT SELF-CONFIDENCE GROUP: Do the words “I’m not good enough” and “why do am I always making mistakes” come to your mind often? Self-esteem is something that a lot of people struggle with and it can affect them at work, home and socially. Often times it prevents people from setting healthy boundaries, having healthy relationships and sometimes it can lead to others taking advantage of you. Come learn the skills to increase your self-confidence and process what the feelings behind low self-esteem.
ANGER MANAGEMENT GROUP: Anger is frequently a result of frustration, or of feeling blocked or thwarted from something we feel to be important. Anger can also be a defensive response to underlying fear or feelings of vulnerability or powerlessness. Anger management programs consider anger to be a motivation caused by an identifiable reason which can be logically analyzed, and if suitable worked toward. Anger management is a therapeutic program for anger prevention and control. Its goal is to learn how to deploy anger successfully.
