Benjamin is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) who has spent over 15 years working with individuals and families to improve their lives. After graduating with a Masters in Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University– College at Florham, he began working in both small and large social service agencies. He is currently working towards his PhD at Rutgers University in Psychiatric Rehabilitation with a focus on Counselor Education and Supervision. His experiences are varied, having worked in school settings, an out of district therapeutic school, as well as a local psychiatric screening center and a day program for those stepping down from or at risk for hospitalization. He currently works full-time outside of the practice at a suicide hotline.
He is primarily a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, but integrates other modalities in order to help individuals achieve their goals. A strength-based therapist, Ben looks to build on the positives that already exist, as well as developing new effective life strategies. Having worked in many different settings, he has experience with mood disorders such as depression and bipolar, anxiety issues, as well as social adjustment issues. He is also very experienced in working with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as well as emotional regulation. He works with adolescents as well as adults.
